Oregon Wellness Program

The Oregon Wellness Program (OWP) is a non-profit that promotes health care professionals’ well-being through free mental health counseling, education and research. This free, confidential mental health counseling is available to Oregon RNs, LPNs, CNAs, APRNs, physicians, podiatrists, dentists and PAs.

The OWP provides:

  • Up to eight free therapy sessions per calendar year, available in-person and via telehealth
  • Mental health care without a “paper trail” – NO reporting to insurance or professional boards
  • Appointments scheduled within three business days, whenever possible

Oregon clinicians can request appointments directly with an OWP – affiliated provider of their choice. Please visit OregonWellnessProgram.org or call 541-242-2805 for more information and a list of participating mental health providers.

Updates to the Provider Quality Measure Reports

EOCCO’s Analytics department recently made some changes to your monthly Quality Measure reports. Several incentive measures were significantly updated between the 2021 and 2022 measurement years which has resulted in some revisions to the latest progress reports.

The Childhood Immunization Status (CIS) measure changed from the Combo-2 vaccines series to the Combo-3 series in 2022. The Combo-3 series requires four doses of the pneumococcal conjugate (PCV-13) vaccine in addition to the other immunizations included in the Combo-2 series. The monthly Quality Measure reports published on September 16th were updated to reflect the Combo-3 rate for this measure. Due to this update, you may find that your clinic’s numerator size and overall rate for this measure has decreased since the last report. The reports now accurately reflect your year-to-date performance on the 2022 measure.

The Initiation and Engagement in Substance Use Disorder Treatment (IET) measure was also adjusted for the 2022 measurement year. These changes have yet to be reflected on the monthly Quality Measure reports, so your clinic’s true rate may change in the coming months. The weekly outreach that our Quality team performs on this subject is based on the official 2022 version of the metric. The monthly reports will be updated to the 2022 logic in the near future.

Upcoming Events & Trainings

Preparing for the Public Health Emergency to End

 

The Oregon Health Authority and Department of Human Services will be hosting a webinar series about preparing for the end of the federal COVID-19 PHE. Community partners, providers, insurers, and more can attend these monthly series to learn:

  • How Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Oregon Department of Human Services(ODHS) are working together to prepare for the end of the national COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) with the goal of preserving benefits for individuals and families.
  • How partners can help Oregon Health Plan (OHP) member and people who receive ODHS benefits to prepare for potential changes.
  • Communication tools partners can use to engage OHP members and people who receive ODHS benefits

Care Partner Support Series

The Care Partner Support Series is a virtual 5-week class designed to educate and empower care partners of loved ones living with dementia.

Throughout the series, we will explore dementia from a person-centered perspective and learn about how the brain changes and how to best support your loved one as dementia progresses.

This series also emphasizes the vital importance of self-care for care partners. We will help you discover ways to prioritize self-care, ask for help, and let go.

Providers can also promote this as a resource for members. Click here to register.

Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) Services

EOCCO's Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) services is a program to eliminate barriers to remove gaps in care for members identified with high complexity or comorbidities including for members in Prioritized Populations. ICC services is a collaborative process of assessment, planning, facilitation and advocacy for options and services to assist members with complex conditions and help them access needed resources. Providers, community support staff, members and their representatives can make referrals to ICC services via any verbal or written means.

Providers can refer EOCCO members for ICC services by using the referral form available on our website.

Once a member is opened in ICC, EOCCO will send out a letter to the providers advising what the member’s and the coordinators plan of car is, please be on the lookout for these letters. In addition, if a member is in ICC services, the providers can view their specific case manager by going to the Care Team section of Collective Medical. 

 

PA Update for Home Hospice Services

EOCCO appreciates your partnership and the quality care you provide to our members. We want to inform you of a change in process for home hospice services. Effective 1/1/2023, EOCCO will require a prior notification of home hospice enrollment that includes a Certification of Terminal Illness in accordance with OAR 410-142-0060. The notification will be valid for the initial sixth months of hospice enrollment. If the member will be enrolled past the initial six months, providers must submit a prior authorization request that includes a care plan and Recertification of Terminal Illness.

Reminders

  • Timely Access to Care Survey – Please be on the lookout for an email in November for the biannual Timely Access to Care Survey. As a reminder, this helps EOCCO monitor the network to ensure all members are receiving care in a timely manner. This survey is for primary care, urgent care and specialty clinics. If you have not received this survey before, please reach out to Kelly.watanabe@eocco.com to be added to the distribution list.

     

  • EOCCO 2022 Workshop – EOCCO has now posted the presentation from this year’s annual workshop. Please click here to review and share with those who were unable to attend.

     

  • Members with Medicare and Medicaid - EOCCO full-benefit dual eligible (FBDE) members are those that have Medicare as their primary coverage and EOCCO as their secondary. These members have access to both health related services (also known as flexible services) and non-emergent medical transportation (NEMT) through their EOCCO benefit.

 

Health related services are non-covered services under the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) with goals to improve the way members can get care and improve their health. Members can start the request, but providers will need to approve and submit the request to EOCCO. For more information, please see the flexible services request form.

EOCCO members can receive free rides to appointments through NEMT services. Rides are available for covered services under OHP. Members can call 877-875-4657, Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm PT to request a ride. Please visit EOCCO’s NEMT page for the Free Ride Guide, a list of local phone numbers and list of FAQs.
